Jess

Hi, I’m Jess! Originally from Florida, I moved to Colorado in my early twenties, where I quickly fell in love with the mountains. I bounced around a bit, but always found myself returning to the Rockies. Now, I’m one of the owners of Black Rabbit Tattoo, here, in Steamboat Springs, where I raise my family, practice my craft, and get to work with my best friends everyday. 

Crafting and creating have always been important staples of my life, even from an early age. My career in art began to flourish after the loss of my childhood dog, at which point I began painting vivid, whimsical pet portraits in his memory. Over the years my medium has transitioned from painting to tattooing, but for fun I’ll dabble in all sorts of artistic endeavors to keep the creative juices flowing. I enjoy tattooing anything from thick, bold American traditional to dainty fine-line, and everything inbetween. 

When I’m not at the studio tattooing, you can find me outside swimming, camping, horseback riding, snowboarding or skiing. My favorite foods are pho & key lime pie, and my favorite color is green. I also love thunderstorms, rescue dogs and have a collection of 50+ tarantulas.
